The Holden Commodore is a series of automobiles that were sold by former Australian manufacturer Holden from 1978 to 2020. They were manufactured from 1978 to 2017 in Australia and from 1979 to 1990 in New Zealand, with production of the locally manufactured versions in Australia ending on 20 October 2017.

Holden Commodore. (1979 to 2020) FOLLOW MARKET. The Holden Commodore made its debut in 1978 and was a mid-size sedan, coupe, and wagon body style throughout its long life. The Australian manufacturer wanted something fuel-efficient to replace the HZ Kingswood, and the Commodore was the answer.
A rebody of the VE for launch around 2012 or 2013, it was said to be a complete redesign with a new look that included different doors and glasshouse. A Holden insider revealed as much, pointing to several renderings amongst hundreds on display during the production VF’s design reveal.
