The painting was begun at St. Abb's Head, Berwickshire, and shows a herring boat crew going out to fish. The title of this work is a reference to the Lord's Prayer, used in Christian worship. Hook was staying at Coldingham, on the coast of Berwickshire in the Scottish Borders, when this painting was made.
