Seoul National University (SNU; Korean: 서울대학교; lit. Seoul University) is a public research university located in Seoul, South Korea. It is one of the SKY universities and a part of the Flagship Korean National Universities.
SNU has redesigned its graduation robes for the first time in 65 years. SNU's current robes are the same as those worn at the first graduation ceremony in 1947, used as formal ceremonial dress for the last 60 years without change.

In the early days, SNU had student uniforms that were two-piece suits with beret made from military uniform fabric in navy color. The uniform was first made in 1947, redesigned in 1965, and disappeared in the late 1970s when Korean fashion industry started booming.
