Kōkako Coffee. started off as a coffee cart in Aotea Square around 20 years ago and it has always led with quality, Murphy says, but it has also embraced a range of accreditations that sit nicely underneath that.
In 2001, founders Helen and Christian established Auckland’s first organic coffee roastery Kōkako – changing the landscape of coffee and what it represents in New Zealand. Named after the endangered endemic New Zealand wattle bird, Kōkako is an active supporter of kokako recovery projects across the country.
