8 hours ago · PAGASA. How a Weather Forecast is Made. WHAT IS A WEATHER FORECAST? A weather forecast is simply a scientific estimate of future weather condition. Weather condition is the state of the atmosphere at a given time expressed in terms of the most significant weather variables.
The sky is covered with clouds between 6 to 8 oktas or has more than 70% cloud cover. Predominantly more clouds than clear sky. For a longer period during the day, the sun is obscured by clouds. Overcast. The sky is totally or completely covered with thick and opaque clouds, 8 oktas or around 100% cloud cover.
Climate prediction is also offered by PAGASA such as subseasonal to seasonal forecasting from ten-day running to one-month probabilistic forecasting with special emphasis on high-impact weather events.
Involved in the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Regional Climate Centres network node for Southeast Asia, PAGASA offers climate predictions, including subseasonal to seasonal forecasting and one-month probabilistic forecasting with a focus on high-impact weather events.
Forecasting rainfall or temperature in probabilistic terms is a way of expressing uncertainty in the future weather/climate. When numerical probability values are assigned to the forecast, it is a way of indicating the amount of uncertainty in the forecast.
