Julián Reyes Felipe ( Tagalog: [hulˈjɐn pɛˈlipɛ]; Spanish: [xuˈljaɱ feˈlipe]: January 28, 1861 – October 2, 1944) was a Filipino composer of the music of the Philippine national anthem, formerly known as "Marcha Nacional Filipina", now known as "Lupang Hinirang".
Julian Felipe, composer of the Philippine National Anthem, was born in Cavite on January 28, 1861, to parents Justo Felipe and Victoria Reyes. His musical talent began to be honed when he was 10 years old, under the instruction of Leandro Cosca.

Born on January 28, 1861 in Cavite, Julian Felipe learned to become a musician at an early age. He eventually took part in the 1896 Revolution and was imprisoned at Fort San Felipe.
