Griffith Observatory is fantastic to explore on its own, but it also has a great view of the sign out in the distance. I love watching the sunset on the sign from this angle, and even though it is far away, it is still a great viewpoint.
Sep 15, 2022 · The unobstructed view of the Hollywood sign behind it is a good photo opp, but you'll find a lot more to do at that location in the Griffith Park Observatory Guide. Griffith Park also has several trails that will get you closer to the sign.
May 20, 2020 · When you park in the parking lot at the Griffith Observatory, there's a nice view of the Hollywood Sign over the next ridge. The closest view of the sign is along the railing on the right side of the parking lot as you face the Observatory.

The Griffith Observatory provides excellent views of the Sign from the Griffith Observatory city and the Sign. The Observatory also provides free parking, so people of all physical abilities can view the Sign and the city below.
Griffith Observatory is a great place to get the classic panoramic view of Los Angeles including best views of the Hollywood sign. The Observatory itself is architecturally striking Art Deco style and has scientifically interesting displays, though the interior itself is not large and can be toured in a short amount of time.
