For instance, the first season starts with a flashforward of the protagonist, Ellen Parsons, running in the streets of New York, covered in blood. 6 months earlier, she was only a naive young woman who had just become a lawyer in the firm of a powerful attorney, Patty Hewes.
FlashForward is a television series created by Brannon Braga & David S. Goyer, and produced by ABC Studios in association with Phantom Four Films. It is inspired by the book Flash Forward by Robert J. Sawyer, and began airing its first season on ABC on September 24, 2009 at 8/7c.
FlashForward began with nine star billed roles. From episode six on, Dominic Monaghan is billed as a regular cast member. FBI Special Agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes) — A brooding and introverted agent at the local FBI office in Los Angeles, Mark's flashforward guides the investigation of the events of October 6.

FBI's LA office has a head start on investigating the flashforward with Mark's vision and by opening a web site. At least one man didn't black out. Mark's wife meets the man from her vision. A clue brings Mark to Utah.
When the entire world blacks out for two minutes and seventeen seconds, everyone sees a flash of their own future 6 months from the present. For some, the future is hopeful, while for others, it is unexpected. For a few, it doesn't seem to exist.
