The mission of the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science is to provide an accelerated education for bright, motivated Texas high school-age students who have demonstrated a passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
The math placement test will determine which math course an incoming TAMS student will take; a student's previous math courses, AP/IB courses and test scores, and dual credit courses completed will not be utilized in determining a student's first-semester enrollment.
