James Hugh Joseph Tate (April 10, 1910 – May 27, 1983) was an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 92nd Mayor of Philadelphia from 1962 to 1972. [2] He was also a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the Philadelphia City Council.
