Jul 7, 1995 · Viva Saturn was an early-90s American band formed after as an offshoot of Rain Parade. Featuring mainstays Steven Roback and John Thoman, with contributions from matt piucci, ross inden, carlo nuccio, and chris cacavas and jack waterson, they released two albums: "soundmind" in 1991, and "brightside" in 1995.
Tightened up to a four-piece, the unprolific Viva Saturn finally released its debut album several years later, sounding like a slightly more energized West Coast version of Luna with mild shoegazer tendencies (and, in the memorably dispirited “Haven’t Felt Like,” a dusty ’60s piano-pop affect).
