The Stephen Collins Foster Memorial is a performing arts center and museum which houses the Stephen Foster Archives at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. It is dedicated to the life and works of American songwriter Stephen Foster .
Designed by Charles Klauder to complement his Cathedral of Learning, the Foster Memorial is a tribute to Pittsburgh native Stephen Collins Foster (1826-1864), America’s first professional songwriter, whose works include “Camptown Races” and “Oh Susanna.”
Starting July 22, 2024, the Stephen Foster Memorial Museum will be open from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. We are closed on the weekends and University Holidays. You do not have to be affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh to use the Collection.
The Stephen Collins Foster Memorial is located on the University of Pittsburgh campus on Forbes Avenue facing Schenley Park in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood. The structure was built in the Gothic style of Indiana limestone and designed by Charles Z. Klauder of Philadelphia.

The Stephen Foster Memorial Museum is located in the Stephen Foster Memorial building on the University of Pittsburgh's campus. The Museum is housed in a 12-sided gothic chamber with stained glass windows designed by Charles Connick that illustrate various Stephen Foster songs.
