Oct 25, 2013 · Jeff Tremaine. "Bad Grandpa" tempers its numerous pranks on the unsuspecting with a sweet, well-acted tale of a grandpa bonding with his grandson. As the kid, Jackson Nicholl is excellent, and Knoxville convinces as a dirty old man. The jokes hit their marks 65-70% of the time.
Synopsis. In the opening shot, an eight-year-old overweight boy, named Billy (Jackson Nicholl), is sitting in the waiting room of a law office. He reads a magazine and turns to a page with a picture of a guy fishing.
