The film won Best Picture and Best Story from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences. In 1960, it was shown at the Asian Film Festival held in Tokyo.

Biyaya ng Lupa is a Filipino drama film about the life of a family residing in a rural barrio and how they coped with multiple tragedies that came in their life. Its melodramatic tones in a countryside setting puts its Filipino audience in a nostalgic state that is very reminiscent of a particular time they’ve visited their provinces.
