Crocodilia (or Crocodylia, both / k r ɒ k ə ˈ d ɪ l i ə /) is an order of egg-laying, mostly semiaquatic, predatory reptiles known as crocodilians. They first appeared during the Late Cretaceous and are the closest living relatives of birds.
