Cergy-Pontoise University is a public university and a leading centre of teaching and research, which welcomes 18,000 students and 1,500 international students interested in studying abroad. The university is located in the west of Paris (30 km from central Paris ), in the Val-d'Oise department.

The University of Cergy-Pontoise has six campuses called Les Chênes, Saint-Martin, Neuville-sur-Oise, Gennevilliers, Argenteuil and Sarcelles. It is a multidisciplinary university with more than 20 national research laboratories and two national excellence laboratories at the institution.
Since the first of January, 2020, Cergy-Pontoise University and EISTI have merged under a new name: CY, Cergy Paris Université. It is composed of 24,000 students. ESSEC is associated with CY as a partner institution.
