Celso Adolfo Castillo (September 12, 1943 – November 26, 2012) was a Filipino film director and screenwriter. [1] Early life and education. Castillo was born in Siniloan, Laguna on September 12, 1943. He became a movie director, scriptwriter and actor. He was the son of lawyer-writer Dominador Ad Castillo, and Marta Adolfo.
Celso Ad Castillo is a ranked along with directors Lino Brocka and Ishmael Bernal for bringing about the Phillipine cinema’s so-called Second Golden Age in the 70’s. Celso was only 21 when he did his first film “Dangerous Mission” (1965) Which signaled his his independent film making years.
