Roger was born on July 28, 1955 in Flint, Michigan to the late Dabner and Ruby (Adams) Gilley. He was a 1973 graduate of Atherton High School. Roger worked for AT&T for 33.5 years as a construction splicer before retiring in 2010. Roger held season tickets for the Flint Generals hockey team and was a devoted fan.
