Dec 31, 2021 · Dr. Frederick (Ted) Leighton, a professor emeritus and graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) at the University of Saskatchewan (USask), was appointed officer of the Order of Canada — one of the country’s highest civilian honours.

Oct 27, 2014 · During the University of Guelph's fall convocation on Oct. 18, President and Vice-Chancellor Franco Vaccarino conferred an honorary Doctor of Science degree on Leighton, a longtime professor of veterinary pathology at the University of Saskatchewan's Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM).
