Nov 21, 2015 · Steps. Close down your game. This should bring you to the folder "Roaming" ( Users > "name" > AppData > Roaming ). Click "The Creativ Assembly" > Empire > scripts. Done. Settings for High Graphics and Very High should now be unlocked in your game. This also works for Napoleon: Total War.

Sometimes I can actually recover my game by re-installing from CD-ROM, but most times I can't. Whenever the game crashes during play, I usually find some sort of STEAM update window behind the game window. Saving every ten turns doesn't work either. Multiple saves like auto save & England 1750 does not work.
