"Strange Magic" is a very creative, well-orchestrated film that got a bum rap from most of the so-called "professional critics". First off, the animation is simply amazing. George Lucas (who came up with the story and served as executive producer) used his visual effects and animation company, Industrial Light and Magic, to maximum effect.

Trivia. Strange Magic. The Fairy King is modeled after George Lucas. The sisters Marianne and Dawn were to have long brown hair, but to save on animation costs it was changed to Marianne having short hair and Dawn having blonde. The Bog King's design was based on a praying mantis and a cockroach.
