Oct 16, 2011 · The OED defines it as you are welcome to (something); do as you wish. The earliest citation is dated 1955. It doesn’t seem weird to me. The speaker is inviting the other person to feel comfortable about what is being asked. I imagine it would occur predominantly in speech, but it would not necessarily be out of place in informal writing either.
Apr 18, 2015 · "Be my guest" is an idiom that's usually used to (politely) give permission for someone to do something. If you want to edit my manuscript, be my guest. Can I try out your new TARDIS? Be my guest. It indicates the other person should feel free to act as he/she pleases.
My partner and I went shopping. My partner and I = subject. A friend gave this to my partner and me. Partner and me = object. It all depends on where the phrase fits in the sentence. Sometimes you hear I used incorrectly as in "That's a picture of my partner and I." It should be: "That's a picture of my partner and me" because partner and me ...
I don't think there is a term for the relationship you are asking about. If the original invitee's guest is a (potential future, not necessarily actual) romantic partner, then (in America, at least) the guest would be the invitee's date, and the term could be used in the inverse direction as well.
Oct 11, 2012 · Assuming you're referring to a single "guest", the possessive apostrophe should come before the s: Bring your event into the palm of your guest's hand. But I have a suspicion that guests was meant to be plural (because of the context). In that case, you should pluralize palm, hand and guest, and put the apostrophe after the last s in guests:

You wouldn't think of writing - "He affected me day." - would you? :) He affected me and my friend's day. puts forward two things, He affected you. (not your day but affected you in some other way) He affected your friend's day. Therefore, "me and my" is not a good combination for use in this context.
Apr 22, 2017 · Just a thought, though! Have a look at this wiki entry, which tells us that the expression primarily means throwing in our own advice, valued at 2 or 5 cents. The UK version has pence or penn'orth instead of cents (for obvious reasons). Here is an entry at the EnglishEnhancer with some good examples.
My wife and I's seafood collaboration dinner. I've never known what the proper way to use a sentence in which you and a specific person (as in you can't just say "our" because you want to specify who) possess something. Is it "Julie's and mine", "Mine and Julies", "Julie and my"...? For instance, "Julie and my favorite band is Eluveitie."
I am in my backyard. The preposition at is generally used for a specific location or thing. I am at the intersection of Hollywood and Vine [streets]. I am at the Empire State Building. I am at my hotel. I am at home. I am at the old oak tree in my yard. However, the above at usage is indifferent to whether you are indoors or outdoors.
