Neilia Hunter Biden (July 28, 1942 – December 18, 1972) was an American teacher. She was the first wife of President Joe Biden. She died in a car crash in 1972 with her infant daughter, Naomi. Her two sons, Beau and Hunter, were badly injured but survived.

She did not run a stop sign but "pulled from a stop sign" when a tractor-trailer crashed into her car in Hockessin, Delaware, killing her and the baby girl, according to the Associated Press report published in the Delaware County Daily Times at the time.
