On September 25, 1918, The Kew-Forest School opened its doors to local youth from kindergarten through high school. Its stated mission was “to exert all its energies, to use every means at its command…to make every child an efficient worker, a helpful citizen, and a power for good.”

Kew-Forest offers three tuition payment plans to help families manage this expense. All families, new and returning, are asked to secure their child's enrollment by signing an enrollment contract and paying a non-refundable enrollment deposit (equivalent to 10% of the family contribution) applied toward the full tuition amount.
The Kew-Forest School was founded in 1918 by Louis D. Marriott and Guy Hinman Catlin. Their object, as expressed in one of their earliest brochures, was to establish “a country day school which has modern equipment, high standards of scholarship and discipline, and a sincere spirit of service.”

On September 25, 2018, The Kew-Forest School marked the 100th anniversary of its opening and began a joyful year-long centennial celebration. Throughout the year, and especially during our spirited centennial Gala at the Queens Museum, we honored our School’s history, recognized the people who came before us, and celebrated the traditions that connect us to our past.
