The Marcelo H. del Pilar Shrine is a declared national shrine by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines in honor of Filipino lawyer, poet and propagandist Marcelo H. del Pilar. Located at Sitio Cupang, Brgy. San Nicolas, Bulakan, Bulacan, the shrine is the former site of the house of the del Pilar clan.
In honor of the Great Propagandist who is known for his pen-name Plaridel, this shrine in Sitio Cupang, Barangay San Nicolas, Bulakan, Bulacan was first conceived in 1955 by the Samahang Bulacan, a group of patriotic Bulakeños led by its president, poet Jose Corazon de Jesus.
Marcelo Hilario del Pilar y Gatmaitán (Spanish: [maɾˈθelojˈlaɾjo ðel piˈlaɾ]; Tagalog: [maɾˈselo ʔɪˈlaɾjo del pɪˈlaɾ]; August 30, 1850 – July 4, 1896), commonly known as Marcelo H. del Pilar and also known by his nom de plume Pláridel, was a Filipino writer, lawyer, journalist, and freemason.
It has a three-pilar obelisk (if that is what you call it) and at the back of the obelisk is the museum proper. It is mostly about the life of Marcelo H. Del Pilar, but there is also a lot of it about the nation's history and Bulacan's history and contribution in the Spanish-Filipino war.
