German's the most unfairly criticized person on the show. For the first two seasons, people complained about her "wooden" acting, not realizing that she was supposed to be "boring" in contrast to Lucifer, since this is an opposites-attract romance.
She is capable of giving us better -- case in point, her consoling of Trixie in the hospital with the news of Dan's death-- but the show overall doesn't give German's character that much material that calls for German to draw & flex her full range.
