The original Justin.tv was a single channel featuring Justin Kan. Wearing a webcam attached to a baseball cap and streamed online via a laptop-backpack system designed by co-founder Kyle Vogt, Kan decided he would wear the camera 24/7, and he began streaming continuous live video and audio at midnight March 19, 2007.
By 2014 Twitch was so popular that Justin.tv renamed itself to Twitch Interactive and shut down the Justin.tv website, focusing solely on the Twitch brand and video game content. We’ll go into more detail about all the different stages of Justin.tv’s life below.

In fact, Justin.tv is ceasing all services, including its website, mobile apps, and APIs. All users who use the site to broadcast video game content are invited to move their accounts to Twitch; all others are asked to find their own streaming solution.
