Haven for Children is a a residential care center that is designed to provide healing and empowerment to street children who have been exposed to or are recovering from substance abuse. It aims to equip them with intellectual, emotional, and productive skills.
The resident-clients of the Regional Haven for Children attending various activities. They used to roam the streets to beg or worse, get picked up by syndicated groups. Under DSWD’s Haven for Children, they are rescued and re-educated.
The Haven is designed to provide healing and empowerment to former street children. It is for children, rescued from the Streets and were exposed to every conceivable form of danger in the Streets, including substance use and abuse.
WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard. WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline.
The provision of temporary custody and shelter is for those who are victims of violence, sexual abuse, exploitation, forced or involuntary prostitution, and abandonment. Moreover, the haven for children has separate facilities for boys and girls of ages below 18 years old.
