It is the oldest higher educational institution in the Eastern Visayas region.
The EVSU is considered as the oldest state university in the city of Tacloban, Leyte and has six campuses strategically located in the different municipalities of the province. The university’s Burauen site is known for its Agricultural courses while the Carigara campus for Fisheries.
