Review by Paul Elliott ★★★½. Already an award-winning celebrated short filmmaker, Raymund Ribay Gutierrez's feature-length debut is a tense drama that follows central character Joy, a 32-year-old mother who lives in a dilapidated house in a decayed inner-city area in the Philippines.
A violent encounter with her alcoholic husband one night leaves Joy and their daughter, Angel, battered and bruised. In response, Joy turns to the Filipino judicial system in the hope of finally putting Dante behind bars.
