Generally, the terms ethics and morality are used interchangeably, although a few different communities (academic, legal, or religious, for example) will occasionally make a distinction. In fact, Britannica’s article on ethics considers the terms to be the same as moral philosophy.
Put simply, morals are the customs established by group of individuals whereas ethics defines the character of an individual. While morals are concerned with principles of right and wrong, ethics are related to right and wrong conduct of an individual in a particular sitution.
Ethics is concerned with rights, responsibilities, use of language, what it means to live an ethical life, and how people make moral decisions.
