In the treatment of depression, the usual dose is 10 mg once daily, increased after at least a week, to a maximum of 20 mg once daily if necessary.
Sep 19, 2023 · Amantin is an antiviral drug which also acts as an antiparkinson agent, for which it is usually combined with L-DOPA when L-DOPA responses decline (probably due to tolerance). It is a derivate of adamantane, like a similar drug rimantadine.
Dosage/Direction for Use. Alzheimer's disease 5 mg once daily, increased in 5 mg increments to 10 mg/day (5 mg bid), 15 mg/day (5 mg & 10 mg as separate doses) & 20 mg/day (10 mg bid). Min recommended interval between dose increase is 1 wk. Elderly >65 yr 20 mg/day (two 10 mg tab once daily).
Generalised anxiety disorder, Obsessive compulsive disorder. Adult: 10 mg once daily, may be increased after at least 1 week to Max of 20 mg once daily depending on patient response. Elderly: Initially, 5 mg once daily, may be increased to Max of 10 mg daily depending on patient response. Oral.
