The RISD Museum is the only comprehensive art museum in southeastern New England, with a collection of over 100,000 works from diverse cultures and periods. It offers exhibitions, lectures, tours, workshops and publications for RISD and the broader community.
Our collection currently contains more than 100,000 works of art and design dating from ancient times to today. Of these objects, 1,713 of them are on view in the museum now. 84,327 of them are available online. There are 1,386 recent acquisitions. All of our collection records are living documents. They are frequently revised and enhanced.
HOURS: TUE, WED, FRI, SAT, SUN 10am - 5pm, THU 12 - 8pm. The museum is closed on June 19th, July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. Admission is free on Sundays from 10am - 5pm and Thursday evenings from 5 - 8pm. Advance ticket purchase is recommended for your convenience. Masks are optional.

This innovative and internationally renowned museum showcases more than 80,000 works of art from Paul Revere's silver and caricatures of 18th century Europe, to French Impressionists and the avant-garde works of recent alumni. A 12th-century Japanese Buddha has its own room with benches for meditating.
