Golden Pond was a town in western Trigg County, Kentucky, United States. It is now the site of the headquarters of Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, 11 miles (18 km) west-southwest of Cadiz.

Oct 9, 2019 · Golden Pond is now a ghost town in Kentucky that became such due to a couple of these reasons. The town is now completely gone due to a highway and the creation of Land Between the Lakes, but the tribute to it and this lovely area make for the perfect autumn day trip.

The first stop you should make when visiting Land Between The Lakes is the Golden Pond Visitor Center. You'll see an exhibit room of historic photographs and interpretive centers showcasing the history and heritage of the area that was once known as "between the rivers".
