Bogo is a coastal component city in the province of Cebu, Central Visayas region (Region VII), Philippines. It has a population of 88,867 (2020 Census figures) distributed over 29 barangays.
Bogo – derived its name from a lone bogo tree or Garuda floribunda, which stood on the shore where Bogo wharf is now. Under its spreading shade, natives and incoming traders in sailboats loaded with goods barter each others products.
History. Bogo’s political community dates back to the arrival of the first waves of early Spanish colonizers in the capital city of Cebu.
