Lessons by Topic. Lesson 3: Pitch Names. This lesson teaches: the names of the white-key pitches (also called the natural pitches) how to find them on the keyboard. The names of the white-key pitches are the letters A through G: A B C D E F G. These 7 letters are reused over and over as we go up/down the pitch range.
Here is the Scientific pitch notation: Helmholtz pitch notation. The Helmholtz Pitch Notation is another notation to identify the pitch's octave, and prime symbol ( ′ ), double prime symbol ( ″ ), triple prime symbol ( ‴ ), are added to the note names to identify the pitch's octave.
Instead, they just give the different pitches different letter names: A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. These seven letters name all the natural notes (on a keyboard, that's all the white keys) within one octave.

Mar 26, 2024 · Pitch is the word we use to describe the degree of highness or lowness of a sound. It comes from the frequency of the soundwave that creates a sound. The higher the frequency of a soundwave, the higher the pitch, making the note sound higher. While a lower frequency results in a lower pitch, making the note sound lower.
Pitches are named using the first seven letters of the alphabet: A, B, C, D, E, F, G. On the far left hand side of every staff is a clef. There are several different kinds of clefs, but the two most frequently used are the treble clef (also called the G clef) and the bass clef (also called the F clef). The treble clef: The bass clef:
“Pitch” is a word we use for indicating where a note lies in a spectrum or range of musical tones. Musical pitches are designated by an alphabet letter or sometimes by a solfège syllable. The musical alphabet uses letters A B C D E F G. Common solfège syllables are: Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti.
