What are predatory journals? Jeffrey Beall, a librarian at the University of Colorado in Denver, is often credited as coining the term “predatory publishers,” which he described as organizations that “publish counterfeit journals to exploit the open-access model in which the author pays.
The List of Predatory Journals. We are creating a free and open list of predatory publishers and journals to help researchers and organizations identify publications that lack a reliable peer review process and that may negatively impact the scholarly reputation of individuals and institutions.
