Kramer/Deromedi Field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium is an American football stadium in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. It serves as the home field for the Central Michigan University Chippewas. The stadium opened in 1972 and holds 30,255 spectators, making it the largest on-campus stadium in the Mid-American Conference.
Jul 6, 2018 · Central Michigan University honored two of the giants of its storied football history by naming the field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium in their honor in 2022. The playing surface at the stadium is now named Kramer/Deromedi Field, in recognition of legendary coaches Roy Kramer and Herb Deromedi.
Nov 10, 2016 · The home for the Chippewas is Kelly/Shorts Stadium. The stadium is named after a generous alum of 1900, R. Perry Shorts, and former football coach Kenneth “Bill” Kelly. Kelly was the coach of the Chippewas from 1951 to 1966.
Aug 31, 2010 · In June 1983, the CMU Board of Trustees voted to rename the facility Kelly/Shorts Stadium in honor of Kenneth (Bill) Kelly, who coached CMU from 1951-66. A stadium record crowd of 30,302 saw CMU defeat rival Western Michigan, 38-28, in 2008.
