Green Fish (Korean: 초록 물고기; RR: Chorok Mulgogi) is a 1997 South Korean neo-noir crime film. It was the first feature-length film directed by Lee Chang-dong , who also co-wrote the screenplay.
Mak-dong dreams of a time when the whole family can live together again, operating a family business, living in harmony. While looking for work in an alienated neighborhood of Seoul, Youngdeungpo, Mak-dong again sees Mi-ae, the owner of the pink scarf, this time singing in a nightclub.

Made in the latter Nineties, “Green Fish” is very much neo-noir and feels fresh out of the Eighties, with the heavy influence of neon lights on You Yong-kil's cinematography. The jazz clarinet soundtrack only adds to this, and it is in parts reminiscent of a younger John Woo or Wong Kar-wai's “As Tears Go By”.
