  2. Graduate Division Degree Programs. Please note: Admissions to UCSFs graduate programs are handled at the level of the individual programs. If you have questions about application criteria, processes or status please reach out to the program to which you are applying.

The masters degree represents a well-balanced and unified program of study in an academic or professional discipline that enables the student to master the subject and develop faculties for critical thinking and independent research.   5. The UCSF Graduate Division is the graduate school of the University of California, San Francisco, and is located in San Francisco. It is recognized as one of the premier biomedical graduate schools in the United States. It offers 19 PhD programs, 11 MS programs, two certificates and a physical therapy program.

  6. Admission Requirements and Application Process. A minimum of a bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or the equivalent from an accredited institution is required. (Some programs or pathways may require a master’s degree. Please check the program that you are interested in to confirm the application requirements.)
