Janusz Marian Majewski (5 August 1931 – 10 January 2024) was a Polish film director and screenwriter.
Director, screenwriter, writer and lecturer. Our school graduate passed away at the age of 92. Janusz Majewski graduated from the Directing Department of the State Higher School of Theatre and Film in Łódź in 1960.

Janusz Majewski was born on 5 August 1931 in Lwów, Lwowskie, Poland [now Lviv, Ukraine]. He was a director and writer, known for Mala matura 1947 (2010), Sublokator (1966) and Excentrycy, czyli po slonecznej stronie ulicy (2015).
Director, film writer, set designer; he says in his memoires that he chose to make the films he made to avoid getting entangled with current politics.
In the years 1983-1990, Janusz Majewski was the chairman of the Polish Filmmakers Association, and since 2006, he has served as Honorary Chairman. In the years 1987-1991, he was a member of the Committee of Cinematography. In 2012, he was elected Rector of the Warsaw Film School.
