Francis J. McMahon is an American psychiatric geneticist and Chief of the Human Genetics Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health. He is also a visiting professor of psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a former president of the International Society of Psychiatric Genetics.

Francis J. McMahon, M.D., Principal Investigator. Dr. McMahon received a B.A. in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982 and an M.D. from Johns Hopkins in 1987, where he also completed a medical internship, a residency in adult psychiatry, and a post-doctoral fellowship in genetics.
