Hannah P. Kania kania.hannah@duke.edu * Biological Sciences Building Room 311, Duke University; Durham, NC 27708 * 419-320-5228 RESEARCH STATEMENT I apply genetic and genomic tools to understand how micro-scale changes in genes can lead to macroevolutionary changes between species over time.
Hannah’s PhD research in the Yoder Lab will focus on understanding the process and patterns of speciation in cryptic mouse lemurs. Her goal is to contribute meaningful new ideas within the field of speciation biology.

Hannah joined the Wittkopp Lab in June 2021. She is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley, earning her B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Developmental Genetics in 2021.
