TEHDAS was a joint action that developed principles and concepts for the secondary use of health data in Europe. It involved 25 countries and produced recommendations for the European Commission and member states.

TEHDAS is a project co-funded by the EU to develop concepts and solutions for sharing and using health data across Europe. It aims to create a framework, guidelines, services and infrastructure for the European Health Data Space, respecting data protection and quality principles.
Feb 1, 2020 · The launch of TEHDAS takes took place just a few weeks after the publication of the EU ‘Data Governance Act’ (DGA) proposal. The objective of the latter wasis to “improve the conditions for data sharing in the internal market, by creating a harmonised framework for the exchange of such data”.
The foundations for the European Health Data Space were laid in the TEHDAS (Towards the European Health Data Space) joint action, a project led by Sitra and involving 25 countries. The project focused on the use of health data for research, innovation and decision-making (so-called. secondary use).
