After graduating from Boston University, where he studied film, Fergus began writing with his partner Hawk Ostby in 1996. The first collaboration between Fergus & Ostby was the noir-thriller Consequence, about a disgraced man who assumes the identity of his dead brother, thrusting him into a nightmare of unimagined repercussion.
