Feb 13, 2024 · The story takes place after World War II in the village of Taplar, which is cut off from the world by a swamp and where the people live simply. Only one person knows how to read. Then one day a female teacher appears, and begins to conduct a lesson for children. This is an omen of another change.
Kaziuk, a stubborn peasant and his pregnant wife live in a backwood village, unaffected by the civilization. The village is once visited by a couple of wanderers, and strange things start to happen afterward. A new schoolteacher is sent to the area. She stirs erotic fantasies in Kaziuk.
Konopielka is a film based on a novel by Edward Redlinski, directed by Witold Leszczynski. It tells the story of Kaziuk, a peasant who rebels against the traditions and customs of his village after meeting a new schoolteacher.
