  2. Furness College is the fifth college of the Lancaster University. Planning of the college started in 1966 when a 12-person planning committee chaired by Professor Reynolds (founding dean of Furness) was established to design the buildings and faculties of the college.

  3. Furness College. Setup and Rules. College Structure. Furness is made up of two major groups of people: the students (Junior Common Room, or JCR) and the staff (Senior Common Room, or SCR).

  4. Furness College offer the biggest choice of courses in Cumbria, from Apprenticeships to A Levels, BTECs to Degrees.

  5. Furness Accommodation. We offer a mix of ensuite rooms and bedrooms with shared bathrooms in Furness. Our accommodation sits above and to the east of the main college building, and the houses are named after parts of the Furness region in the Lake District.

  6. You don’t have to take our word for it, Furness is the best college on campus! As the smallest college in the university, around 400 students join every year as Freshers, meaning we offer a small and close knit sense of family and belonging.
