Life and career. Mark McKenzie was born in Lake City, Minnesota. He received his undergraduate degree in music composition from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, studying with David and Nancy Baker, Michael Cunningham and Ivar Lunde.
Mark McKenzie is a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Composers branch (Oscars), a board member on The Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL), is a member of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Grammys) and belongs to the BMI performing rights organization. His latest film, 'Max and Me,' tells the true story of a priest who struggled to keep compassion alive in Nazi-occupied Europe, and features performances by Joshua Bell and the London Singers.
