Isabela, officially the Province of Isabela (Ilocano: Probinsia ti Isabela; Ibanag: Provinsia na Isabela; Tagalog: Lalawigan ng Isabela), is the second largest province in the Philippines in land area located in the Cagayan Valley. Its capital and the largest local government unit is the city of Ilagan.
The newly crowned Queen Isabela received P100,000 from the provincial government, a crown designed by Arnel Papa, a sash, a bouquet, a Queen Isabela designer trophy, and a trip to Singapore and Boracay, among other prizes.

The Japanese occupation of Isabela began in 1942 and lasted up to 1945, when the entire country was liberated by Filipino and American forces at the end of the World War II. Thereafter the Philippines became an independent republic in 1946.
