Mazie Keiko Hirono (/ ˈ m eɪ z i h i ˈ r oʊ n oʊ /; Japanese name: 広野 慶子, Hirono Keiko; born November 3, 1947) is an American lawyer and politician serving since 2013 as the junior United States senator from Hawaii.

She was the first Asian immigrant and the first Buddhist to serve in the Senate and the first woman to represent Hawaii in that legislative.
